Brand of the month: John Sankey
At Richard Grafton Interiors, you can find beautiful bespoke pieces of furniture. We give our customers the option to customise details from fabric combinations and shape to the stitching patterns and feet. Our exclusive partnership with John Sankey therefore means our projects contain original pieces which feel special and our clients can enjoy in their own home.
We thought we would give you an insight into the John Sankey brand. Most importantly, to explain how our clients can own a timeless and unique piece of upholstery which takes pride in a home.
What is the history of the brand?
John Sankey dates back to the 1950’s and began by John himself in the hub of British upholstery: Long Eaton in Derbyshire. John Sankey has since 1992, transformed into a family business. The brand holds the same values as us at Richard Grafton Interiors, also being a family run business. Quality and comfort are at the heart of what matters; which is why we work together as an exclusive John Sankey upholstery stockist.
“Our design process is to look into history, to look at styles and designs from around the world and then bring these influences together; creating new shapes to suit real people who will enjoy them every day.”
How do I own a John Sankey piece?
John Sankey only partner with interior designers like us who can support you on your journey. Owning an exquisite sofa, chair or ottoman is our shared goal, our vast range of fabrics mean you can tailor your item to your exact specification. And why not tie in beautiful accessories to complement the rest of the room?
We manage the sale, delivery and execution. All you have to do is enjoy your John Sankey chair or John Sankey sofa in your own home.
Here is a recent project which uses the John Sankey Moliere Wing Chair in a colourful Master bedroom. The designers enjoy working with this classic contemporary design because it’s square tapered shape and polished legs create an impactful look. Details include a raspberry textured fabric from Osborne & Little combined with a blue lumbar cushion covered in a Casamance fabric.
