Presenting: Contemporary Neutrals New Build

31.03.2021

As experts in interior architecture and design, we were excited by this project as it was a newly built, contemporary home with large open plan rooms which needed softening and styling. The scope was a full design of the home, using a mix of architectural elements in the handmade cabinetry and bespoke kitchen as well as interiors and soft furnishings. Our senior designer, Victoria, & cabinet designer, Catherine based in our Ilkley showroom helped to make this happen.

STYLISH LIVING

The owners of this property wanted to maximise space and light, they had large floor to ceiling windows installed and polished floor throughout to give a seamless look. The project was managed from start to finish with the help of Jess our project manager, including the clients from the outset to ensure they were happy with the progress and updated on any design options.

BESPOKE KITCHEN

Catherine explains: “We worked with our trusted trades to ensure the project was finished with every tiny detail in mind. Designing, making and installing this statement kitchen was a highlight of the project, with so many intricate details and a one of a kind finish the kitchen had a complete makeover. Using veneers, brass inlays, soft gold droplet lighting and luxury brands like Buster & Punch ensuring the finished product really had the wow factor.”

Warm tones were selected for the cabinetry, creating the perfect canvas for our interior designer to select fabrics and finishes. We worked closely with our cabinet workshop in Yorkshire to design and make the kitchen, breakfast bar, and a bespoke wardrobe style corner cupboard with antique mirrored panels which were then fitted with top of the range Miele appliances.

The final look was finished off with metallic bar stools in a practical suede fabric, a contemporary oval shaped dining table by Julian Chichester with abstract chairs and a statement chandelier which hung from the ceiling void. This allowed the room to flow through from the entrance hall, which was papered in a gold textured wall covering from Arte and complementary accessories from our showroom.

BEDROOM HAVEN

Vic continues: “Our clients wanted to make use of the ground floor by incorporating a master suite with functional dressing area and luxurious bathroom so we spatially planned the layout ensuring there was enough storage and practicality but without compromising on quality and design. The lead up to the master bedroom was not going to be utilised in the best way, so we created some fabric covered doors and alcoves which acted like a modern ‘boot room’ but also looked stylish and in-keeping with the new style of home. We designed a bespoke panelled headboard in colours and fabrics which tied in with the rest of the floor and master suite and added scatter cushions to decorate. The dressing room was designed to house a mixture of hanging and shelf storage with detailed fretwork doors and crystal handles. We also added a double door entrance to the master ensuite to create maximum impact. It was a pleasure to work with this couple and see their vision turn into a reality; we were so pleased with the final result.”
