18.01.2022

Whether you’re looking to embrace the latest trends or update your home in a classic style, The team here at Richard Grafton Interiors are ready to make your dream home a reality in 2022.

Are you feeling like your home needs a bit of a reinvention? Would you like to get the New Year off to a great start by refreshing your home?

We have a team with an abundance of knowledge and love of diverse styles, we can transform any room in your home so it looks absolutely stunning and works flawlessly for you and your family.

However, we do understand that this picture-perfect result can seem difficult to imagine if you’re currently struggling to find inspiration for the updating of a space or the revamp of your whole property.

If this sounds like you, don’t worry. Our vastly experienced designers are experts at working closely with a client to identify their personal tastes and exactly what they need on a practical level, as well as to suggest fresh and innovative ideas.

To help you along the way or to give you some inspirational ideas, here are a few of our favourite trends for 2022.

Trend 1 – Bespoke home working solutions

It’s safe to say we have now entered the era of hybrid working, where more people than ever before know they will spend part of their working week at home and part of it in the office. As a result, our interior designers are certain there’s going to be a huge investment in customised home working spaces in 2022.

No longer will people be satisfied with turning their kitchen table or bedroom dresser into a makeshift desk and packing up their home office paraphernalia every night. Instead, we expect there to be a significant demand for bespoke work areas that provide clever storage solutions, deliver maximum comfort and wow colleagues and clients on video calls.

Trend 2 – Natural goodness in the kitchen

Since the pandemic started, one of the biggest design trends for kitchens has been the use of natural materials. Not only do these materials have a superb aesthetic quality, they are increasingly being recognised for their mental health benefits.

In 2022, our interior design team are positive this trend will grow stronger, and you’ll see an even bolder use of natural materials in the kitchen. This includes floor-to-ceiling wooden cabinets with striking patterns, heavily veined marble worktops, islands, splashbacks, and handcrafted accessories such as basket-style pendants.

Trend 3 – The drinks are on us!

Entertaining at home in style is another key trend for this year. If you’ve got the space and budget, this could mean the installation of a luxurious home bar that makes your guests feel like they’ve just walked into a sophisticated members club.

However, if space is more limited, then an elegant drinks trolley is a great alternative and something that can add a sense of occasion to any room. By adding statement glassware, bar accessories, flowers and carefully placed bottles, you can create a decorative piece of furniture that looks beautiful and makes rusting up cocktails a real joy.

Trend 4 – Green is the new neutral

Despite the Pantone colour of the year being a periwinkle blue, green is predicted to be an ongoing trend for 2022.

We’ve previously noted that shades of green are considered the most restful for the eye and create a sense of tranquillity and rejuvenation when used in a space, whether it’s a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, or office. It’s part of that ongoing process of reconnecting with nature and bringing an element of the outside in.
