Interior Trends 2022: Maison et Objet

Last week Richard Grafton Interiors visited Maison et Objet in Paris. Unfortunately, due to Covid the fair was postponed from its usual January event to March however either way we were pleased we could travel with ease and spend time sourcing for projects as well as for our showrooms and looking out for inspiring, unique pieces and trends.
Here our team have selected their top trends, accessories and furniture from the exhibition.
Interior Trends 2022
Natural Elements
We really enjoyed the Elements of Nature exhibit, showcasing a sensory voyage through different areas that invite us to reconnect with nature, artisanal skills and raw, organic shapes. The ceramics and glassware particularly caught our attention, in pure whites and ocean shades of greens and blues. At Richard Grafton Interiors we enjoy selecting unique, one off pieces for our clients from around the world so they know they have something special which they can treasure. We also fill our showrooms with stylish accessories you cannot get anywhere else in the UK.
Blue & White China
A huge trend in pottery this year was Chinese inspired, blue and white patterned ornaments, ginger jars, vases and stools. We love the impact different sizes displayed together creates, paired with oversized orchid plants which are also available to purchase in our showrooms and shortly via our online shop.
Rattan
A reoccurring trend which ties in with nature and one we keep seeing each year is rattan, particularly in light forms. Combined with earthy, neutral colours and pieces by Ethnicraft (available from Richard Grafton Interiors) the rattan pieces emulate a Mediterranean landscape which preserves artisan qualities and traditional influences.
Chocolate Brown
Moving away from tan and burnt orange to a richer chocolate brown tone is evident in interior trends. This beautiful sideboard particularly stood out as we hunted for key furniture pieces. Pair with gold accessories to really add warmth to your interiors. This trend has also been picked out by Vogue in their January article which you can read here.
