This project began with a brief to enhance a family room within a large detached home in a picturesque West Yorkshire village. The home had been recently renovated to maximise its beautiful natural light, open spaces and stunning high ceilings but felt a little too ‘grey’ and lacking in character for the owners, who wanted a home that was individual and reflected their fun and adventurous outlook.
It’s so exciting for our designers when we work with clients that love colour, unique designs and texture and for this project all were incorporated in abundance! Eclectic and colourful fabric designers including Osbourne and Little, Matthew Williamson, Designers Guild and Manuel Canovas brought a bright, flamboyant and whimsical scheme that brought to life the neutral colour palette of the home.
Our design team worked hard to source and create individual, eye catching, and colour infused pieces of furniture and accessories. This included curtains, blinds, cushions, soft furnishings and beautiful items of furniture designed to fit specific spaces within the home. All bespoke furniture, including fitted bookcase cabinets in the garden room, was manufactured in our in – house workshop and hand finished by our team of expert craftsmen.
We identified the opportunity to create something special in an amazing curved bay window of the garden room, making a round footstool and vivid oversized chairs that perfectly enhanced the space, creating the most idyllic spot for contemplation, reading or just appreciating the beautiful view of the garden.
