I joined the Richard Grafton team as really liked the idea of working collaboratively with the different designers who all have a wide range of skills that I can draw upon and I see this as such an added benefit for our clients. I’ve had an interest in architecture and interior design for as long as I can remember, and it’s a love affair that shows no signs of stopping.
My personal style is eclectic modern country as I love to source interior accessories and furniture from unusual places, combining a variety of surfaces and textures. I couldn’t get by without my iPhone and my notebook, especially when I’m designing. Gathering ideas and inspiration is essential for all of the projects we work on, whether it’s photos, sketches, or fabric samples. My notebook helps keep me organised, and my iPhone gives me access to creative online tools like Pinterest and Houzz.
I start every interiors project by finding an anchor for the scheme: a particular piece that the client loves and wants to build the rest of the palette around. It could be a piece of furniture or art that they already have and love, or a fabric sample they fell in love with in the showroom, anything can start the story.
