Eve Finlayson

Junior Interior Designer

My interior design career began with a printed textiles and surface pattern design course at Leeds College of Art, designing fabrics for fashion, home and wallpaper. I thrived on putting my creative flair to use and began producing hand painted designs for fashion and home products, both in store and online. I progressed my studies with a diploma in interior design, whilst also working within the furniture retail sector.

I was keen to advance my design career in an environment that would allow me to work with a range of high quality interiors brands and products, but most importantly to work in a stimulating and creative environment with an ambitious, experienced, and like-minded team and that’s why Richard Grafton Interiors is a perfect fit for me.

My role involves supporting the design team and assisting throughout each step of a project by helping research, source and implement materials for design schemes. Being involved in such a diverse range of projects is both fascinating and exciting and provides the opportunity to develop my design career with an established brand, with a reputation for high quality and delivering truly amazing spaces.

Prior to starting at Richard Grafton Interiors, I travelled around America, staying in a variety of homes along the way and this provided so much inspiration. I found it fascinating how people put homewares and styles together, in a way that allowed their personalities to shine through. This for me is the most important part of being an interior designer, working with a client to make sure that their living space reflects their passions, lifestyle, and the way they need to use a space practically.

I use the natural world as my main inspiration and I am drawn to all things colourful, textured and patterned, which is reflected in my eclectic design style; I love mixing old and new pieces with a few unusual items to spark interest and conversation. I have a passion for art and in my spare time, love to paint; whether it’s landscapes, animals or a fresh bunch of flowers.
